Taking Stock

These are some questions that take stock of my goals and assets in Web design.

• My current web design goals are to learn as much as I can so that I can create easily navigated web sites for my clients. As I said in my earlier post, computers have always been off-limits to me and I would like to be able to run my own site for my real estate business and possibly help other people on the side for extra money doing consulting or marketing for small businesses. How professional my sites end up being is really going to depend on how well I am grasping this program.
• The creative aspect of web design interests me most for sure. I am one of those crafty people who go crazy every time I enter Hobby Lobby so the idea of being able to create something that other people will appreciate is very appealing to me.
• I think one of the only and in my opinion best skills I have that will be useful in my web design will be being a web user myself! I like to critique things and make them better or more fun. I think being opinionated is going to help me out for once!
• I need to brush up on all KINDS of skills! Since I am pretty basic to begin with I think this program will be one very large “Brush Up”.
• I don’t have any tools personally in my hardware or software for web design but I look forward to discovering which ones are the best to use. I have seen some great tutorials on software on You tube from people around the world and they all seem pretty user-friendly
• I eventually would like to buy a laptop computer for internet use only. Just one of those small ones that aren’t really expensive to use for real estate and web design so my personal files don’t get all mixed in. I have an Apple for all of my fun pictures, web shopping, and music so I would like to have a Microsoft system because we are learning everything on Windows here and it is pretty much hard enough to learn that let alone have to be compatible with Apple and learn other programs that do the same thing.

Maybe some day I could be like these computer guys!

Then again.. Maybe not….. And I would be OK with that..
